Issue #71

Dear Friends and Family,
Thanks so much for your prayers over the weekend. On Friday evening the Supreme Court announced the candidates that will be allowed to run for presidential elections in two weeks. Out of 19 candidates, only 5 will be allowed to run. This weekend was declared a "state of emergency" and a curfew was set in place to keep everything calm. I haven't heard of an incidents from the weekend. The president has placed five armed soldiers at ICA for our protection. It was a different experience to see guys with weapons walking around campus, but now it doesn't seem so unusual. The students have been taking turns getting their pictures taken with the soldiers.
It is praise item that this weekend went so well. Please continue to pray for the next two weeks. Then tensions are still there, and it is uncertain what will happen. Another praise item is about the family that I mentioned before whose truck had been stolen. The got their truck back this week. Some of the things from inside the truck were missing, but they did get the medications back and several other things.
On Wednesday of this week, I will be moving into one of the elementary dorms to fill in for the dorm assistant while she is in States for two weeks. My student teacher has my class for the next two weeks. Please pray that I will be able to remember all the things that I am supposed to do and that I'll have a good time with the students.
Thanks again for your continued prayer and support.
In Christ,
Traci
