Dear Friends and Family,
I am enjoying a nice break right now. The kids left on Friday. Saturday through Monday was Inservice for all the staff. The meetings were good and a lot of was accomplished. The food during Inservice was incredible. On Saturday, there was a Mexican Feast. Sunday afternoon looked like Thanksgiving. We even had broccoli. I don't know where she got that. It can only be found on a rare occasion. We also had pumpkin, apple and cherry pies. These were also special treats.
Tomorrow, I am going with two other girls to Abidjan for a few days. It will be a nice time to relax and get some shopping done. The trip there will be three or more hours of seeing how many potholes I can dodge. The road has gotten pretty rough lately.
Speaking of the road reminded me of a praise item. Last week I asked you to pray that the kids and their families would have safe travel. We had two busloads of kids going to Abidjan. Some live there and others were going there to meet a plane. The kids leave in the morning and take sack lunches with them. Usually the dorm parents don't fix sack lunches for the Abidjan kids because they will be home in time to eat lunch. This year they did. It ended up being a good thing because they were stopped on the side of the road for hours because of a wreck that blocked the whole road, and down the road about 30 minutes later because of another wreck. Thank God that they had safe travel and had plenty of food and water to keep the kids comfortable. Or at least as comfortable as you can be when it is over 100 degrees outside, and you are in a bus on the side of the road.
I probably won't write again until school starts. Please continue praying for all those who are traveling during this break, and that the kids will have a good time with their parents. The kids return on April 11.
In Christ,
Traci Epps
